“In the joy of others lies our own,
In the progress of others rests our own,
In the good of others abides our own,
Know this to be the key to peace and happiness.”
―Pramukh Swami Maharaj
In March of 2023 I visited India for the first time, where I had the opportunity to volunteer at an ashram (a school) through a nonprofit organization called Manav Sadhna, located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. I sat in a fifth grade coding class, where all of the kids were engaged in basic programming drawings. The students included me in their discussion, asking me about my own educational experiences in America. They were surprised and interested to learn that I had been doing robotics for seven years and had even participated in competitions.
I was touched by their spirit and determination and realized that I could share my passion for technology and creativity with these kids. This experience of visiting the ashram inspired me to start this robotics program.
Using Lego robotics kits, my vision is to create an opportunity for underprivileged children across not only India, but also around the world, by providing robotic and technological resources. Through accessible education, I aim to inspire and equip these young minds with the skills and confidence to become the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and leaders in the world of robotics and technology, one step at a time.
